An interior of a modern family house design is always more than just furnishing separate rooms. A well-functioning home is really a story: spaces react to each other, materials are echoed at different points, and the mood is present throughout the house.

This is exactly what the Győr project is all about. The client's need was clear: characterful wood pattern, bold colours, yet clean, modern space, in which the different rooms are naturally connected. The result is an interior where the colour green, travertine stone, dark wood and different textures run through the house - but each space has a slightly different role.

The concept: green, wood and natural textures

The character of the project quickly emerged at the beginning of the design phase. The owners wanted to keep their home modern yet warm. Three key elements formed the basis for this concept:

• character wood pattern
• strong green colours
• natural stone surfaces

The aim was to present these materials not as a stand-alone decoration, but gently walk through the entire house. This creates the visual rhythm that makes an interior feel truly coherent.

The back wall of the dining room - when proportions decide the outcome

At first glance, the design of the wall behind the dining area seemed like a simple task, but several versions were made before the final solution was found. It quickly became clear how important a sense of proportion is.

A console table that's too small or a poor choice of décor will immediately spoil the overall look. In addition, everything in the dining room is at eye level: the wall, the décor and the furniture are constantly in focus.

A version was also considered where the wall mirror panel cover would have received. This would have optically widened the space and perhaps made the proportions less noticeable. But we rejected this solution. The rest of the house already has character, so another accentuated surface could easily have cluttered the overall picture. The pictures are available on the instagram and facebook on our website about the different versions!

Finally, a painted wall + new bracket + thoughtful composition we decided to. This solution is not only more harmonious, but also more flexible. The wall can be adapted later: shelves, new decor or even a different wall covering can be added.

This is one of our principles: a good interior should leave room for change.

The relationship between kitchen and dining room in a modern family house

The link between the dining room and the kitchen is a key element of the project. It is here that the idea of using materials and surfaces guide the eye through space.

The wall cladding has become a key element of the concept. It does not appear everywhere in the same way, but it accompanies the whole level: sometimes more pronounced, sometimes just as a texture or rhythm.

From the kitchen, the view is already strong - so we've deliberately kept the dining room wall down. The aim was to create a space complement each other, not compete with each other.

The entrance hall - the first impression

The atmosphere of a house is often felt in the first few seconds. Therefore, when designing the entrance hall, it was important that it was not only a transitional space, but also a characterful start to the interior.

Looking back from the corridor, the wall cladding runs continuously through the space and then turns into a cantilevered shelf. This solution provides a visually stable point of arrival while connecting the different parts of the house.

The colour green is already present here, but in a more subdued form. The entrance hall is thus at once clean and characterful.

Functional hallway - when storage is invisible

On the other side of the hallway is a large built-in wardrobe. This will store your vacuum cleaner, coats, shoes and cleaning products.

It was important that this block should not appear as a traditional wardrobe. The aim was rather to blend into the wall as an architectural element.

The green colour of the kitchen is the basis of the surface, creating a subtle link between the different rooms.

It is in this space that the wallpaper door which also houses the guest toilet.

Guest toilet - minimalism with character

The guest washroom has been designed in a deliberately understated way. We didn't want to replicate the wall cladding outside, and we didn't want to overcrowd the space.

The emphasis was on the cladding.

This is where the travertine stone pattern, which later returns at other points in the house. This material helps to connect the different rooms.

The furniture front and the inside of the wallpaper door are now in a different material, which echoes the warm tiling that runs through the house.

The aim was to create a space that minimalist, yet with character.

The living room - the community space

The living room is one of the most important central spaces in the house. Here, the colour green is back, but in a subdued form: an armchair and some decorative elements.

For the other elements, we followed the main palette of the house. This keeps the space coherent and avoids too many focal points appearing at once.

On the wall behind the sofa, the familiar wall covering returns, but without the framing. This solution gives a more subtle effect while remaining recognisable.

When a substance returns in more than one room, it helps give rhythm to the space.

Play of textures in the living room

At one point in the living room, the wall cladding gets a little twist: a 3D patterned cold tiles.

It is not the colour that dominates, but the texture of the surface. This decision was important because we did not want to introduce another accentuated shade.

This cladding also echoes the focal walls of the wet rooms, again creating a link between the different rooms.

The pendant has become a favourite feature of the space. Conceptually, we let it be the main focus, so the furniture tends to be more stripped down pieces.

Travertine and fireplace - the transition wall

One of the most interesting features of the living room is the split wall. It's not a classic room divider, but rather a transition to the next room.

This is where the travertine stone, which gives warmth to the space. And the bioethanol fireplace acts as a subtle focal point.

The wall doesn't completely block the view, but rather hints at what lies beyond.

The bar - one of the most exciting parts of the house

Behind the wall is a space with a completely different atmosphere: the bar.

This room is a world apart inside the house. Dark wood, stone surfaces and subdued lighting combine to create a more intimate atmosphere.

The bar can be the centre of a gathering of friends, a place for family evenings, or even a place for a quiet chat.

The guest room - a multifunctional space

The last room on the lower level is the guest room. This is a flexible space that can be connected to the bar.

With a pull-out sofa and a small table, it can function as a fully-fledged guest room or even as a study.

Here the use of materials changes a little. The wall painting is in a green hue, while the dark wood-grain wall cladding is only up to parapet height.

This adds freshness to the space while maintaining the unified character of the house.

Summary

An interior of a modern family house the most important question in designing a space is always how the spaces are connected.

In this project, the green colour, the travertine stone, the wood pattern and the different textures were the common language that runs throughout the house.

The result is a home where every room is a little different, yet all part of the same story.
