A Vintage Garden has recently celebrated its 10th birthday and has undergone a complete transformation. The iconic Budapest restaurant has now celebrated its La Bocca by Vintage Garden with a unique Italian atmosphere that appeals to all the senses. It is a great pride for us that the MM Interiors team redesigned this special place. The redesign was the result of an intensive planning period and a swift execution. The birth of a transformation

The rudimentary visual designs were also a source of strength during the "demolition". The main inspiration is clearly was the Mediterranean way of life, which is embodied in the harmony of smoky pistachio green and terracotta colours, the abundant greenery and the clean but characterful decor. The aim was to make the restaurant a true become a Mediterranean oasis where guests feel like they've stepped into Italy.

Dolce far niente, but not trite.

Moodboards - how we started the transformation process

Each room has its own unique atmosphere, yet we have combined Italian chic features in the renovation.

• Mediterranean inspiration: The combination of burgundy and deep green colours creates a warm, inviting atmosphere.
• Eclectic playfulness: Classic trattoria elements have been reinterpreted in a more modern way, avoiding stereotypical Italian restaurant solutions.
• Garden room: The unique smoky pistachio green tiling, citrus decorations and terracotta details create a relaxed, natural atmosphere.

GARDEN TRANSFORMATION

A winterised hut or an oasis bathed in summer sunshine? There's room for dolce vita in every season!

Natural harmony:

The combination of smoky pistachio green walls, abundant greenery and natural materials creates a relaxing yet elegant environment. Rattan chairs, soft sofas and decorative cushions in warm terracotta tones create a feeling of homeliness.

Iconic details:

A tiny but charming Fiat 500 parked among the greenery, perfectly evoking the Italian urban lifestyle. In the shade of orange and lemon trees, sipping an Aperol Spritz, you feel like you're sitting on a Tuscan terrace.

A balance between comfort and elegance:

The white marble-effect tables bring freshness and cleanliness to the space, while the earth tones of the sofas and the abundance of plants add a formal touch. The whole space invites you to linger over a delicious pizza or a glass of wine.

INTERIOR SPACE

The harmony of burgundy and deep green, the eclectic use of materials and the small details all contribute to the Italian chic of La Bocca at the end of the transformation.

Tradition meets modernity:

The classic trattoria atmosphere has been spiced up with contemporary elements: natural stone effect walls, rattan chandeliers and large mirror surfaces create a spacious and inviting space.

The atmosphere of Italian piazzas:

The red tiles and terracotta-toned pizza oven add warmth, while the checkered floor and neon signs add playfulness.

Details that bring the space to life:

Carefully selected textiles - deep green velvet seats and rust brown trim cushions - blend perfectly with the Mediterranean colour palette. Small Italian references, such as the neon sign "Pizza now, pasta later" or La Bocca's iconic lip symbol, make the space unique.

Summary

It will not be easy to let go of this project - there is an incredibly dedicated, talented and cohesive team behind the restaurant. It's rare that we get to work in such a smooth, dynamic and inspiring collaboration, and the speed and precision of the execution has been a real gift to us. We are grateful to have been part of this special transformation!

The conversion has been streamlined:

• It took 6 weeks to complete the design,
• In 4 weeks (2-2 weeks inside and outside) everything was done.
