A little girl's room with bunk beds that grows with her

Timeless nursery design from the moment your baby arrives

This little girl's room is therefore not a classic nursery. It is much more of a flexible, long-term space planning, where the basics are provided and the functions change with the child's age. During the design process, the most important considerations were practicality, cost-effectiveness and aesthetics, and of course the placement of a bunk bed.

One of the biggest challenges when designing a children's room is time. Not only when it will be ready, but also when how long it works well. In this project, the parents made a conscious decision when their little girl was born: they wanted a space that would not only be ideal for the early years, but also easy to use even for young children and schoolchildren.

The central element of the square: raised play area, not for sleeping

One of the most distinctive features of the room is its raised design, which many would consider to be a bunk bed, but here not for sleeping. The upper level is specifically functions as a play area, a kind of gallery space that gives free rein to children's imaginations.

This is where the world of role-playing games will take place. A small kitchen, storybooks, dolls, creative toys and everything else that requires a little retreat and a cosy atmosphere. This area can easily be converted into a reading corner or even a projection corner at a later date, without having to change the furniture structure.

The bed on the lower level can be used safely with a fall guard, but it remains practical even for larger guests or when sleeping together. This solution meets both current needs and future life situations.

Mobile furniture and variable functions in the centre of the room

In the middle of the room, there is currently mobile furniture A small wooden table and matching chairs are now used for playing, drawing and crafts. These pieces are easy to move and rearrange, giving young children exactly the freedom they need.

As the child grows, these pieces of furniture can be gradually replaced with a built-in desk and swivel chair, which already serves school years. The basic logic of the space does not change, only the functions become more mature. This approach fits perfectly with the thinking that previous in our children's room projects we also represent.

Cost-effective use of materials through conscious design

When designing the children's room, it was important to ensure that we work with materials that are not premium priced, yet are durable. A significant proportion of built-in furniture can therefore be made from laminated surfaces. With the right design, proportions and detailing, these elements can also be aesthetically pleasing.

A laminated surfaces When selecting products, we worked with reliable manufacturers. Egger's range, for example, is particularly well suited for use in children's rooms, as it is durable, easy to clean and available in a wide range of natural-looking finishes.

We enhanced the warmth of the space not only with colours, but also with materials. Wood appears on the shelves, the tabletop and the roof of the playhouse. These elements counterbalance the pink and beige tones, preventing the room from becoming too monotonous.

Flooring that can withstand everyday wear and tear

When choosing flooring, a chevron pattern, bleached, knot-free oak-effect vinyl flooring We decided on this solution. It combines the warmth of wood with the practicality of modern coverings.

A vinyl flooring Its advantages are that it is quiet, easy to clean, resistant to wear and tear during play, and performs well in the long term. In children's rooms, it is particularly important that the flooring is not only attractive but also durable.

World map on the wall, learning through play

At the customer's special request, a world map, which was not used as wallpaper but rather as framed posters on the side walls. This solution is both decorative and educational.

Even at a very young age, maps can teach children about the world, and later they become a learning tool. It was important that the map should not dominate the space, yet remain prominent, so it was given a clean frame and a well-thought-out placement.

Storage optimised for all ages

Functionality was the primary consideration in the design of the built-in wardrobes. The system includes a combination of folding, hanging and drawer solutions, so that all types of clothing can be easily stored.

Double hanging rails ensure that even a school-sized wardrobe can be easily managed. The upper shelves are used to store bedding and less frequently used textiles, while the lower sections mainly feature drawers for easier access.

The built-in large table and the cabinet around it are complemented by LED lighting, which is not only practical but also serves as a mood-enhancing element.

Harmony of colours, lights and details

The atmosphere of the room is defined by the combination of white surfaces, pink arched shapes and gold handles. The skirting boards and cornices delicately frame the space without distracting attention from the accent elements.

The lighting appears in several layers. Spotlights provide general lighting, while the golden white berry chandelier appears as a distinctive central element. LED lighting placed in the bed and on the shelves creates a cosy, intimate atmosphere in the evening hours.

A little girl's room that will work for years to come

This children's room is not designed for a momentary situation. It is a space that is playful and protective today, and will be practical and inspiring later on. The raised play area, flexible furniture and conscious choice of materials all serve to make the room truly grow together with the child.
